All planned and ready to go.
We fly from London to Buenos Aires via Madrid. We will now have visited seven of the eight continents.
We then head north for the Angel Falls on the border with Brazil.
Fly back to Buenos Aires, collect hire car and drive to San Antonio de Areco.
From Areco, we drive back to Buenos Aires and fly to Mendoza, capital of the Argentinian wine industry.
Really doing our bit for global warming on this trip, we fly from Mendoza to Bariloche via Buenos Aires and pick up another hire car.
Drive to Lago Puelo in the Argentinian Lake District.
On to Esquel where we’re hoping to catch La Trochita – the Old Patagonian Express.
Back to Bariloche and another flight to El Calafate in Patagonia.
From El Calafate, we fly to Ushuaia, the tip of South America and our last stop in Argentina
We have a couple of days in Ushuaia, before boarding NG Resolution, our home for the next 3 weeks. The first bucket list item on our trip and completes our list with all eight continents visited.
We sail to Antarctica via the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, returning to Ushuaia for a couple of days.
We fly from Ushuaia to Santiago via Buenos Aires, stay overnight in Chile before flying to Easter Island, the second of our bucket list destinations on this trip.
Fly from Easter Island to Punta Arenas via Santiago. Pick up hire car.
Drive on to Puerto Varas
Back to Punto Arenas and fly to Puerto Montt, where we pick up another hire car for our mini road trip.
We drive to Valdivia.
Next stop Pucon
Then on to Puerto Octay, the former German colony.
And finally Ancud on Chiloé Island.
Return hire car and fly back to Santiago for Christmas.
After a few days in Santiago we get the bus to Valparaiso for a couple of days relaxation on the coast.
Finally we fly to the Atacama Desert for New Year, before returning home.
